MASTER CLASS IN ACTING, SINGING, AND DANCE

Students gain intensive training in this on-going all-inclusive study for serious students of Musical Theatre.

ACTING

Master class begins with an in-depth study of the art of acting with honesty. Students study and practice delivery in both dramatic structure and comedic timing, body language, movement, characterization, improvisation, volume and diction, accent and tonal qualities, creative subtext analysis and explore various styles of dramatic interpretation.

VOICE

After a brief break, students gather for an intensive session with Master Kimura. Using various vocal exercises with intense strategies, students progress in studies of vocal control through breathing, muscle control and proper posture for successful singing. The exercises help students gain higher levels of achievement in tone, pitch, overall quality, and confidence. Students are exposed to various elements of musical theatre including a better understanding of music vocabulary, sight-reading and creating and sustaining harmonies.

DANCE

The triple threat student must obtain basic skills in a variety of dance forms including but not limited to jazz, ballet and tap. Each session ends with an intensive study that exposes the students to a variety of the demands of dance in musical theatre. Students learn basic terms and gain an understanding and ability to follow instructions. These skills help students to obtain success in auditions as well as a solid comfort level in any musical theatre dance rehearsal process.
